Three Rivers Trestle
Southern #154 is on the Three Rivers Trestle near Knoxville Tennessee.
The trestle, built in 1913, crosses the Holson River where the confluence of the Holston and French Broad rivers form the Tennessee River.
#154 is a 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type steam locomotive that was built in 1890 by the Schenectady Locomotive Works in Schenectady, New York and was delivered to the East Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia (ETV&G) Railway.
In 1894 the ETV&G and the Richmond and Danville Railroad merged to form the Southern Railway. During the locomotive's service life, #154 worked on the Knoxville to Bristol and the Knoxville to Asheville divisions of the Southern.
On July 3, 2010, #154 became the oldest operating Southern Railway steam locomotive when it made its debut on the Three Rivers Rambler and pulled its first passenger train.
