I drove two hours to photograph the fall colors in the Grayson Highlands area of southwest Virginia. As I approved the mountains I could see large black storm clouds over the top of the mountain. ..I thought oh no, after a long drive I could be rained out. As I drove toward the top of the mountain I could see the storm was further to the east and made a nice backdrop to the fall colors..
