Steaming by the Depot
#630 steams by the Arts Depot in Abingdon VA.
Southern Railway 630 is a steam locomotive built in 1904 by the American Locomotive Company (Richmond Works) for the Southern Railway. The 630 was used on the Southern in regular freight service until it was retired in 1952.
It was in and out of service on several lines before being donated to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in 1999. After completing a ten-year restoration 630 returned to regular service on March 2011.
