Catawba on High
Catawba Rhododendrons grow wild and bloom in late May in the Grayson Highlands in southwest Virginia. This rocky outcrop on Wilburn Ridge overlooks Massie Gap and stands at approximately one mile above sea-level. ..The Haw Orchard Mountain can be seen in the distance and the Appalachian Trial crosses the highlands at the base of this outcrop..
